How do I manage my Campaigns?

Overview:

Managing campaigns effectively is crucial for the success of any SMS marketing strategy. Campaigns in SMSWiser allow you to create, monitor, and optimise your marketing efforts. A successful SMS marketing campaign requires the integration of a tracking platform to manage sales and analyse performance.

Business Need:

Tracking the performance of each campaign is vital to understanding what works and what doesn’t. By using a tracking platform, you can gain insights into user behaviour, measure engagement, and evaluate the effectiveness of your marketing strategies. This data-driven approach helps in optimising campaigns for better results, improving ROI, and ensuring that marketing efforts align with business objectives.

Setup:

1. Access the Campaigns Section:

  • Log in to your SMSWiser account.
  • Navigate to the Campaigns section in the top menu bar.

2. Create a New Campaign:

  • Click on the + Add Campaign button.
  • Enter the campaign name. Choose a name that clearly identifies the purpose of the campaign.
  • Select the country where the campaign will be targeted.
  • Select the Campaign mode: 
    • A campaign can be sent only once per sms number. 
    • A campaign can be sent to the same mobile phone number unlimited number of times. 

3. Integrate with a Tracking Platform:

  • SMSWiser accepts integration with any tracking platform, including well-known tools such as Everflow, FunnelFlux, Voluum, BeMob, and HasOffers.
  • Create an SMSWiser traffic sourced on your chosen tracking platform.
  • Create a campaign in both SMSWiser and on your chosen tracking platform.
  • Copy the tracking link and (optionally) the impression link from your tracking platform and set it on SMSWiser.

4. Setting Up the Tracking Link:

  • The tracking link generally looks like this:

https://trackingdomain.com/campaignID?click_id=%click_id%&var2=%zip_code%&var3=%drop_id%&var4=%address%&var5=%source_id%&var6=%city%
&var7=%last_name%&var8=%first_name%&var9=%phone%&var10=%email%

  • Parameters within %…% are SMSWiser’s placeholders that will be filled in and sent to the tracking platform as soon as an SMS message along with the shortener is generated.
  • The shortener will be paired with the tracking link filled with all the parameters.

5. Launch the Campaign:

  • Review all the campaign details and ensure everything is set up correctly.
  • Click Submit to launch the campaign. Your messages will be sent according to the schedule and settings defined.

6. Impression Tracking:

  • SMSWiser supports impression tracking, which means that for every sent SMS, the system will file an impression link to the tracking platform with the SMS cost value.
  • This ensures that the costs are equally synchronised between SMSWiser and the tracking platform, providing accurate financial tracking.

7. Monitoring and Optimisation:

  • After launching the campaign, continuously monitor its performance through the tracking platform.
  • Analyse key metrics such as click-through rates, conversion rates, and overall engagement.
  • Use the data to make informed decisions and optimise your campaign.

8. Reporting:

  • Generate detailed reports to evaluate the success of your campaigns.
  • Share insights with your team to refine future marketing strategies.
  • Use the reporting tools within SMSWiser and your tracking platform to track sales, measure ROI, and assess the overall impact of your campaigns.

Example Scenario:

Imagine you are running a promotional campaign for a new product. By integrating SMSWiser with a tracking platform like Voluum, you can create a campaign on both platforms. You set up the tracking link in SMSWiser, ensuring it captures all necessary parameters. As the campaign runs, each SMS sent includes a short URL that redirects recipients to your tracking link. SMSWiser records clicks, and the tracking platform records the conversions (that can be also POSTed back to SMSWiser via a postback), while impression tracking keeps your cost data synchronised. This setup provides comprehensive insights into campaign performance, allowing you to optimise and improve future marketing efforts.
