Overview:

The Data Sharing feature in SMSWiser allows clients to seamlessly share their leads and related data with third-party systems or other SMSWiser accounts via API connections. In SMS marketing, the ability to share data across platforms and with different stakeholders is crucial for maximising reach and effectiveness.

How It Works:

  • The Data Sharing feature allows you to share your leads with third-party systems, such as CRM platforms, email marketing tools, or other SMSWiser accounts.
  • You can choose to share all leads the list already contains, or only new leads that will be added to the list in the future via the API or the CSV file.
  • This integration is particularly useful for clients using CRM systems, enhancing the efficiency of contact data management.
  • The system can post to the defined third-party system either only the new leads or the already existing leads in the selected list. There is a toggle Upload all leads to manage this setting.

How To Set It Up:

1. Access the Data Sharing Section:

  • Log in to your SMSWiser account.
  • Navigate to the Settings section and select List sharing API Templates.

2. Create an API Template:

  • Click on + Add Template to create a new API template.
  • Fill in the required fields such as Name, Method (POST, GET, or PUT), and URL of the external system you want to share data with.
  • Configure the request timeout, concurrency per thread, and the data format (e.g., JSON, form data, or Query).

3. Define API Parameters:

  • In the API parameters section, map the SMSWiser placeholders to the corresponding fields required by the external system. For example, map %first_name% to First name, %email% to Email, etc.
  • Add any additional custom values or specific parameters required by the API.

4. Save and Activate the Template:

  • Once all necessary fields and parameters are configured, click Submit to save the template.
  • The template, once submitted, will eventually become enabled with the configured settings.

5. Sharing Leads:

  • To share leads, go to the specific list you want to share and select Options, then API-connections.
  • Choose the created API template and configure the settings for the data transfer, such as selecting the lead fields to include and setting the request concurrency. Most of the fields will be pre-defined based on the template. Feel free to adjust settings if needed.
  • Click Submit to start sharing leads with the external system based on the defined API template.

Testing the API Connection:

  • Clients can test the created API connection. The system will randomly select one lead from the list the API connection is created on and attempt to send this lead to the defined third-party system.
  • The system provides instant feedback on whether the operation was successful, allowing you to verify the connection and data accuracy before full-scale implementation.
